its the last day of 2011.
finally?
i don't know.

it certainly hasn't been great.
2011.

i lost ahma..
and i lost a friend
and a teacher.

and so did my friends

i still miss them.
and its still painful.

and i am sorry i didnt jump at the 2nd chance given.
i chose the same path. not regretting anymore thou.

but its also not all pain and nothing happy..
i went for my 1st friend wedding.
my friend is pregnant, one gave birth..
meldric was born this year too

and i got A for practicals, guess thats worth remembering
clinicals was fun i guess. at paeds and SCI.
being a yr3.....school is fun. thank god for my group of friends and FYP mates if not idk where i would be
and yes, yanling can write reports too, even the 5000words kind. haha. tested and proven!

korea is absolute loves too!

christmas break was great. but i am regreting right now because there's a lot to do.
but i love the christmas exchange and meet ups

this year was simple... its either i'm sad or i'm happy.
no confusion =)

i guess i grew up again this year.
i got a clearer picture of what i want
i understand myself better too, and it wasnt as scary as i tot it be

2012... i hope it will be an exciting year.
with exams, conference, SIF, xinfony, graduation and working life.

had a wedding dinner on sat.
korkor's house warming on sunday.

so no. not much rest occured over the weekend as i try to complete my tasks on-hand so i can go out.

feels like i am falling sick thou.

but it felt good not touching ottp at all for the past 3days thou.

but today i am scanning again like my eyes gona die.

really. medical journals, you are not that amusing.

i feel like blogging!
been a long time since i had this feeling

Korea was good..
bought the most facial product i ever did in my entire life.
didnt get enough clothes.
in case u think 'enough' is subjective.
i only bought 1shirt, 1jean, 2sockings, 1 pair of shoes
aww. i expected a lot more.

food was okie...
had different food everyday!
but korea breakfast really CMI
cos women are expected to make breakfast at home, no one really eats out.
if you have to eat breakfast outside, you will be laughed at.
so... we dont have very good breakfast.
like their BBQ! hehe..
spam their veg like crazy
mushroom pot was good..
ginseng chicken was ok
i like bibibam too...haha

it was autumn. but not autumn enough, it got delayed for some reason
there's autumn leaves. but not the entire stretch.
lol..
I finally been to where emo and pretty korea drama are flimed.
Nami island.pretty place. if only its FULLY autumn!
i'll be there again =)
and that beach.

they have no public rubbish bin too - cos area surrounding rubbish bins are the dirtiest. so everyone bring rubbish home to throw.
their citizens are very supportive too.
imagine the kind of reaction Singaporeans will give if this were to happen.
sec sch girls make up to go to school because making up is social etiquette. makes me feel bad.
faceshop, skin food, etude house, even langiege are sec sch girl brands.
about 3times cheaper than sg. [NOT KIDDING]

the trip really test my patience & temper man.
big group with different needs
conflicting needs.
managing managing.
failing badly
doing the best i can

it was still a good break from singapore.
more time to think.
things i left hanging cause i was busy...

Death permeates the air during the seventh lunar month. There seems to be no avoiding of it. You are constantly reminded of death wherever you go. Its crude in-your-face reminder seems to be mocking the living - poor fools who think that they have all the time, only to regret not spending enough of it with the people who matters.

And the finitude of life becomes even more cutting when it occurs to the young. Like a celebration that is abruptly cancelled...

You'll Never Walk Alone
The news reports gave rather factual accounts of what happened on Tuesday. Junsheng was "found to be unconscious at about 5.11 pm on 2 Aug 2011 while participating in a navigation exercise at Ama Keng Training Area at Lim Chu Kang." The news articles then went on to state the various timings of the medic's arrival, of the two evacuations first, from the training ground to the air base medical centre where an SAF doctor attended to him, and then to the National University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

What was unreported was that he was sent out on the navigation exercise in a group of four, and was only discovered to be missing at some point in time. The members retraced their route and found him unconscious approximately 10 minutes later (presumably at about 5.11 pm). Junsheng must have been alone for that duration of their retracing at the very least, possibly longer! And that delay would have drastically lowered his chance of survival even with CPR administered immediately after they found him! How long had he been alone? Why didn't they notice his disappearance? How alone he must have felt then... They walked without him... An irony, indeed, for a person whose favourite football team spots the motto "You'll Never Walk Alone."

But all these questions were left unanswered. Answers not for apportioning the blame, but for his loved ones to know exactly what happened, just so we can, if nothing else, share Junsheng’s pain, his fears, his thoughts, and his grief at those very moments...

This weekend was supposed to be the 21st birthday celebration for one of Junsheng’s best friends. We observed the occasion with a simple cake-cutting at the wake. No birthday song, no laughter, no celebration - just a simple cutting of the cake in his presence. Because we know that he would have wanted to be there.

That juxtaposition of life and death, of joy and grief, of past and present… It felt like my mind was being overwhelmed by the deluges of thoughts and emotions, questions and answers, which led to more questions. Thoughts that couldn’t be processed before the next bolt of emotions crashed them...

To the SAF,
Please witness our loss, our tears, our sorrows and our pain, and not let this happen again. You lost a soldier. We lost a friend. His father lost a son. In truth, we all lost something. We all lost Junsheng. But that lost is definitely harder to bear for some.

The onus is upon you to look after your soldiers, our friends, and the parents’ sons. It’s not on the parents who have kept their sons safe all these while.

To those who were there with Junsheng for his final walk,
He will never walk alone again.

To Junsheng’s family,
Please be strong.

To Junsheng,
Please be happy wherever you are, and leave the grieving to us. We may never recover from this heartache, but we will always be thankful to you for all the sweet memories.

it been a busy week

Junyi came early, 9th may.
spent monday and tuesday at KKH.
he developed jaundice thou. i hope it subside soon

i am quite excited about it! =D
1st friend who invited me to wedding!

friday... had soiree..
amazing what we can come up with in 1plus week.
put it all together and it wouldnt be possible without anyone of us.
the props are so nicely done and within such a short time frame.
thou the props only appeared for a short while and probably ppl will not know how much effort are put in for each and every prop.
the island stories are so original and at the same time classically funny.
PEO = play, eat, orh-orh.
and spending more time on the floor.
the dance too..so nicely put together by everyone and willingness to learn..
i always wonder how the year3s can put something together so quickly and this year, when we have to, we just do it.
i really enjoyed preparing and perfrominf for soiree this year. =)
and i think its only when you are a 3rd year then you appreciate it better.

today... went for xinying's 21st.
i met an OT graduate who is not an OT now.
sometimes giving up requires more courage.
i wonder what made me hold on til now.
and i wonder how far i have come, because i cannot see it.

it feels more like a friday than a saturaday.

as much as i want to give opposition more opportunities and voices in the Parliament
i think its not worth trading GY with WP.

even at defeat, after he did so many things - visible and non-visible, he presented such a gracious speech
this is the kind of man, that i want to represent Singapore on a international level.

but since it has been casted in stone, I hope that WP show everyone that Aljunied do not need to repent.
and we will be responsible for our decision.

a lot of young people are actually interested in this election.
much much more then i expected.
the next GE is gona to be even more interesting. with even more young voters and the young candidates of now would be more mature.

but food was soso
didnt drink much but was burping beer still hours later

okie.... somethiings to sum up for this month...

I have a heavy sleep debt to clear..

i was sick for the whole week
stomach flu or food poisoning or something idk.
but the feeling of just waking up from sleep to go diarrhea or vomit is no good.
furthermore, i didnt even eat anything!
no rice for a week was torture thou..
i never want to get it again..

but still had to go school for presentations.
and presentations only.

and there was still open house..
which they got us there to do nothing.
total waste of time.
and sending emma off..
with the gastric juice stirring in my tummy.

there was also band chalet during the weekend..
near changi v, well..some ulu, eerie but nice to chill place..
OH. OH. and eunice tried cooking for the 1st time!
AND THE POTS....... hahahaa
I lost everything eunice won in mj too..lol
and my 6months was gone in 10min.
how great.
another thing is, you cant see the sunrise in the East part of Singapore.
we went to changi beach for nothing..haha
eunice & I got bloody high laughing at boats & singing..

stupid illness, if not i probably would be more on task with my ppp & all other reports.
damn.
and it was just week 1 of 2011.

ahma was hospitalise, again.
other than comm outing presentation..
I was very distracted & had to do home mod report..
it was JS & YS 21st at east coast..
was typing my home mob report everywhere..
so pathetic.
and so tired..
stayed up almost the whole day to finish up the report and the appendix.
the measuring and thinking about a client that you can only read from the internet is hard.
and yes james, I do love you so please dont come back to haunt me anymore.

after home mob report..
it was full blown pp
could have been so much better. its grossing me out.
then counselloring report.
the sleepless nights.
oh. i think lifestyle cooking session was this week too?
SO FUN!
its amazingly amazing what we have pulled through in this course as a class..
and the lecturers was actaully glad that no one got food poisoning this year. wth?
that was probably the best thing that happened.
then there was full dress rehearsal for chingay..
should have seen how that person styled my hair.

i miss thailand.

went to celebrate CNY at with patients at IMH today..
totally new experience, interesting & fun..
went to collect my ordered cny clothes too..
plus talking to eunice..
but my ppp not done yet.
wanted to do yesterday.. say today..
and now i have not started yet.

very disappointed that hands prac is on the 8th.
after looking so forward to having a break during cny.
sian to the max that you cant imagine..
you are supposed to use your brains.
but then again, seems like i'm the only 1 complaining.

promises are not meant to be broken & i broke 1 just in jan.
and i am seriously not committed to my committments.

wednesday there's presentation....

thursday there's no presentation! =D but school's til 6 and meeting the girls for dinner... & emma's leaving for aust again already....

friday..there's a presentation again, the last for the week plus meeting my dear wc & hc for dinner & then x-winds chalet.

this year is coming to an end.
today is the last day of 2010.
so fast~ i already forgot how i countdown-ed to this year

this year,
a lot of us turned 21.
we turned adult.
celebrated 21st too..
not much of a difference except that we doesnt need parental consent anymore..
and maybe we have a greater part to play in the tax rebate and politics?
singapore hosted YOG

been to sunway with lixuan and emma.
been to thailand with the YEP, probably 1 of the best trips that i had..
studying up in the mountain with the bee was good too.. haha

school & results had never been so bad in my entire life. zzz
but i passed anat & neurophysio for the 1st time in my life!
but its deifinitely still haunting me thou.
going on long clinicals and together with supervisors & patients is definitely a new experience.
the experience with the Jap girls..nice to know that they didnt forgot us
haha..
right now school is still very stressful still actually..
all the reports and projects...
its very amazing how much we have been through for now is year2sem2 already!
like having COP for the 1st time and the other modules..
and currently i am learning video editing too for projects...
kind interesting...
OH. not forgetting I am a certified to do CPR now... on both adult & babies..

went to Play yesterday..
but left before 1.. just when the party was starting..

sat at boat quay for about 3hours?
and talked about all sort of stuff..

no. i am NOT rejoicing
after telling us that we are presenting on week 9 on week 6.
after we spent days and nights on this project.
you tell us 1 day before the presentation its postpone.
i just need to whine.
now on week 12, the 1st week of january.
I have 4 presentations and 1 report dued
seriously. school can't get any better.
and by having all these on week 12, its the best back-to-school present i can get.

been awhile.
after a hectic exercise week, i hadnt exercised at all the following week until today i went to jog again!

I cut my hair..
look totally like a little boy now.
I even got checked at the movies just now for just a NC16 show!
so freaking embarrassing..
but the guy who checked was pretty surprised i was 21... zzz
but showering only takes half the usual time. which i am happy about. haha

mummy was like scolding the hairstylist, which i felt bad for.. haha

today, is the 3rd day of the week. 3rd day of school to be exact.

as usual, we got our workload.
this sem, i have 5 reports to write. i hope no more is coming our way.
that means i have about 10000 words to type on this laptop.
due dates are in w12-16
5 reports, 10weeks, 10K words.
roughly, i have to come up with 1 thousand words a week.

no wonder they put hands in this sem.
so we can take care of our hands while typing all these reports.

and i haven include any of the presentations that we have!

so people, i think u all can forget about seeing me for the next 3-4months.

and guess what? i fell asleep.

saturaday, was SPOOKTACULAR EVENT AT SENTOSA!
its gooood!

4 trails, at merlion, museum, imagine of singapore, and the tiger beer tower..
it was damn cool.
and i tot 4 trails is very worth the money too..

today is the last day of holidays.
or rather, its the last 2hour of holidays..

and its not even 2h cos i am preparing for clinicals now..

well.. the last week was filled with emma's farewell..
with SR band..
with alumni
and lia they all..
time's flying.. =(

finally went back to nazt..
& glad that everyone thinks that the food is GOOD! =D
didnt get to go play again.

everything with fries was new..
maybe its a new place to study!
ladies night at rebel wasnt great..
mac breakfast was thou! haha

ate at some turkish rest at old shaw tower..
ambience was good, food was nice too..
starbuck-ed to end off the day..

tues was class pinic at marrina barrage..
played monopoly again, kite flying was fun too
sotong is so cute.. lol
but life is so unexpected..

eunice gave me 19 missed calls that day..
found me on the 20th call. lol
she got into shan's good looks so quickly its not fair!
lol.. never underestimate play?
it builds the rapport straight away..

i'm pretty sure something is living on my window edge..
but i cant seems to find it. zz

and i realised, actually i do have a job at the stall... if i want it..

which probably will be my 2nd or 3rd career in time to come? haha

i am so worried and scared, yet excited about clinicals!

I actually had something i wanted to blog about.. but i forgot about it immediately.

anyway, its insane today because i tried calling my sup 10 times and i couldnt get to her.
& sj is in ICT now and yr is overseas..
i am going to wake up at 8 tml to call her!

aerobics started today.
i could feel all my bones cracking and muscles stretching...
just after rotting at home for a few days!
feels good to sweat
but my tendon archilies is hurting. =(
and i keep getting reminded of what kind of contraction the muscle is undergoing.

that must be why.. i am reminded of results today..
i know about the you cant do anything about it now & don worry about it and focus on clinicals..
but once in a while, it just pops back into your mind.
and you wonder...

i dreamt of lizards yesterday.. in my room!
of all sizes & colours
gross. & weird.

anyway.. its pinic tml! & next tues!

Gary Kielhofner passed away yesterday.
after a fight with cancer.
nope, i dono him personally.
i know his name, i know his models and assessments thru lectures.
but OTs from all over the world mourn.
it was actually heart-warming to see them all coming together.

there been so many deaths around me recently.
i just saw him the day before. the next day he was gone. and he was just talking to my neighbour 1h before that
i thought the doctor said 3months? why was it 1week?

didnt manage to finish mental health too.

i suddenly think that if i chose a normal 9-5 office/admin job.

and had breakfast with cherie.... 1 week was enough to screw my body clock...haha

& seriously... there's more than 1 sat in a month especially in august!
why did everyone choose 21st to hold their event?!
igap, birthdays, buffets...etc
got like 6 events in 1 day? almost like its an auspicious date or something.

okie okie...
a lot of things happened this first week of hol

actually i should start from last friday..
WC's 21st....was late =X
and her mum was very enthu in serving us alcohol!
lol..
talking to HC on the swing was great.. =)
we called a cab, and it was late and the company changed the number too.
cos it was at nsrcc, cabs are ulu and rare...
so had to pay more for the cab entrance fare. &%%*($#

sat.. went to night safari..
walked and took the tram...much faster than the last time we went..
i like elephants.. haha..
and hippo actually can kill... it chews you til you die & then spilt u out.
or drown you.
went back to AMK mac...and we talked through the night..
with swing break too!
it was a playground with sand. ^^
oh.. the rhino looks really like a rock too..

didnt tell mummy i wasnt coming home =X
it was impromtu anyway..
so got like 7 missed called at 5am.. =x
cos going to leave for KL on sunday!

oh. met a PT fitness instructor there too...
& didnt managed to see any bottle trees.

I'm back from KL..
somehow...it hadnt been a lucky trip..
went into a toilet which have maybe 2 dozen of cubicles and i chose 1 without a lock..
and another couple of sinks and i chose 1 without water..
even the hotel stole my mp4 =((
left it in my bag and left it in the hotel...
went out, came back its gone.
and the management isnt helpful. zzz
but my melody bag which i always keep my mp4 in is still around...
=((
and even the seat i sat on TV wasnt working!
lol...
not that i am pessmistic okay... its really sounds unlucky...
i hope my luck is coming back!

shopped alittle..
nothing much...mostly online shop stuff...
and not exactly much cheaper than sg too.

my house, my room is in such a huge mess right now, i cannot stand it.

and you know what.
i think i have to start studying again already!
haha..
cos 30th will be my 1st paper..
and 20 days arent enough for me to cover all my topics!

It been days, weeks, months maybe even years since i have been as productive as today.
cheerios yanling!
I did stat reflection
read up on Kawa
added more words for OTTP report
info mang project
and even had time to do a little bit of BSM
in addition to going out for dinner & going to NTUC =D
okay...now it doesnt sound alot..
but the point is, i finished everything on my to-do-list!
and i even have time to be blogging now ^^

but i sort of finished my Viva yesterday and LTG & STG for OTTP!..
viva is such a pain seriously.. spent hours on it
10 pages on how you cook noodles T.T

well.. i overslept last night...
and missed the G vs U match. crap.
not only me, jiejie, daddy overslept too.
argh.
considering that i am watching world cup finals later & i have to reach school at 9 to rehears for presentation..
I think i am so dead.
and the day ending with BSM then singing..

Concert at VJ was new...
went there with milk...and yea, we've grown up

i had my fair share of 5 years of concert excitment
it was a lonely concert this time..
those who used to be there arent there anymore.
it was sad thinking how the years have passed like it didnt.. yet leaving its footsteps (understandable? LOL)

because i wonder what kind of mindset they took on..
they actually can leave it to die....as though its none of their business at all.
